1 Year ago I decided that my love for streaming was going to be a full time gig, A year ago I sat down with my wife and told her, I want to stream Monday through Friday and treat streaming as a career choice. She laughed but said hey you need a "hobby" to keep you busy while home with the kids.
To show her how serious I was I went down to the city and purchased a business license on the 13th.
Here we are 1 year later. 1425 Friends, 13,404 views, 12 subs, TwitchClub was formed, Playing games handed to us by developers and so much more.
I cant thank you all enough, Your friendship and belief in our community is priceless. I love your faces.
Was the 13th the first time I streamed ever? Nope, before July I actually started messing around with streaming around March, I would turn the stream on like 2-3 days a week in the evening straight from my PS4. Met some good friends that are still around today playing games like Destiny and Dragonball Xenoverse, Took me March to July to finally work out a schedule, put some much needed equipment on credit cards and start this dream.
Its been an amazing adventure. With its up and downs.
If you could do it over again would you change anything? Nope, I am a very firm believer that changing things messes up the timeline. But after a year a lot of the problems I had at the start make so much more sense now.
Like what? When I first started I did not understand at all when I reached out to my favorite streamers I would always get my feelings hurt and not understand why they never had time to help me get started. Now after doing this after a year I have found out that its impossible, there are way too many people to host, and tweet out, and advertise that it would take all your free time to do so. Plus many that you do help and try hard to start friendships either quit or drop you like a sack o shit once they got what they needed. Its painful.
What would you like out of year 2? The same thing I got for year one, I really don't have any number goals, no matter what I do someones already done something better or worse than I did, I'm just happy playing games with my friends. If greater things happen that's amazing. If everyone gets too busy and go in different directions I'll reevaluate and see what life brings me.
Whats been the best part of streaming? Easily the people, I mean a year has gone by and so many of these badasses still hang out with my foul mouthed hairy face. After a year we are still friends, sharing life experiences and playing games every day together :)
Anything you miss from the start? Yes, there's a bunch of old friends that helped start the stream to help it get it to were it is today. Many of those amazing people have had life changes etc.. I miss them but what can you do?
Any questions any of you have for me? Just ask!
To an amazing 1st year! Year 2 Mission Start!
