Why I haz no views?!

A very common thing I hear smaller streamers and new streamers say a lot is "I turn on my stream and no one ever shows up."

It's a bummer, But lets talk about this. Many take this personally, They feel that they are doing something wrong, that thier channels not good enough, etc.

Lets start off with how Twitch works. Do this with me so you can see what I'm talking about. Log onto Twitch. Look for the game you would like to stream, click on said game and let the streamers pop up. If your game is hard to find and no one is streaming it, its going to be even harder to find. So now your looking at said game. Twitch has everyone in position based on the number of current viewers. The people with all those views sit on top, The others sit below them and depending on how many people are in the channel depends on how low.

Ok so now we know that twitch loves them views. If you got the views, you get what I like to call the snowball effect. The snowball effect on Twitch is the more viewers you have the more your going to grow at a fast rate. More people watching the people just pour in, view count gets higher, more follows, the more likely you can be discovered by new people. So many people get so caught up on follower count and all that jazz. Thats just e-peen talk. Whats truely important is that you have fun and feel successful.

I turn on my stream, and I think, I am going to be using this time to play anyways, Im gonna open a door to what I am doing and see if anyone wants to keep me company and enjoy what I am currently playing. Maybe we can talk lore? Maybe get to know eachother? Maybe tell penis and fart joke I dont care. It all sounds like fun.

So why does the streamer have no viewers as soon as you started streaming? Lets ask yourself a couple questions:

Have you done anything to let the world know that you are streaming? Twitter? Facebook? Called your friends?

Are you playing a game the 1500 other people are streaming right now?

When someone comes in your room to talk to you do you respond as fast as possible?

Have you made yourself a part of a community?

I personally feel that the last one is really important. No one will support you in your goals better than a group of pals all working on the same thing. And how is anyone going to support you if they don't know your even doing it? Do you have a schedule? Do you flip the button and hope everyone will drop everything to come rushing in? Remember to be real, people have lives, jobs, kids, hobbies all consuming the brain.

The most important thing about streaming is to ask yourself "Why are you doing this?" "Why are you streaming?"

I have seen too many new streamers come in, fall in lust with it but quit the moment no one comes in to watch them play. Don't give up if you love streaming. Get yourself out there, find ways to advertise your stream, let people know your out there. Be a part of a community of like minded people. Need one? Come hang out with us.

A little advice though: When Advertising your stream, heres a couple Do nots!

Do Not go into other streamers channels and tell all of their company they should go watch you right now, Would you want someone coming in and trying to steal your company?

Do Not Follow someone just to see your name pop on the screen then unfollow. Have you ever followed someone just because their name popped up on a screen? how did you even know they were a streamer? like wtf?

Just be Respectful, Everyone is working really hard to create something, Do Not go and push them out of the way or knock them down to get noticed.

Do NOT give up. If this is something you want, just keep doing your thing, Always look at ways to improve. Remember theres hundrend of thousand of other people on Twitch right now, trying to grow, trying to get noticed. If you want it work for it and it will come in time. The top streamers have been doing this for years and their hard work is paying off.

You can do this!

Need like minded people? Look up when the next stream is up and come chat with us live. Or find us on any of the social media we have on the top right. Your more than welcome. Lets talk. Lets Game!

Till next week~

Keep streaming~
