Play what you want?

One thing as a streamer that I know that friends and I preach to new streamers all the time is to play what you want on stream. But is it really that simple? I don't think so. It's true you should play what you enjoy but it will affect your stream for better or worse. I fight with this every morning. What should I play? Today I feel like some fall out 4, but it's so hard to get sucked into the game when you have to pull yourself out constantly to check on reality, Maybe some Star Wars? Nah if I play that then my ARK friends will be bored.

Point of all this is that picking a game to stream can be rough, you can pick a game that you love and enjoy and notice your views are low and the conversation dies. You can pick a game everyone loves watching you play but you feel empty inside because you have ridden this ride way too many times. So what does it come down to? Are you streaming because the dream is to be partnered and have those views? Are you streaming because you just want to share what you love with likeminded people and just make some friends and talk about what you’re playing?

Remember your stream is your little place on the internet. What you do with it is up to you! You’re in control, don’t change who you are because some angry person decided to walk into your space and state they don't like it. Ask yourself what’s wrong with this person for coming in and complaining? If they walked into Target and bitched it wasn’t Walmart the world wouldn't stop and go oh hey maybe we should pee on the floors and stay open 24/7 and let’s be Walmart. Be proud of your space.

Personally I "game hop" on my stream like an indecisive teenager; I just don't know what to wear! Err play. Is it good for my stream? Sometimes. Does it scare people away at times; Yup and I cannot blame them. If I was in the mood for shooters and my shooter stream was playing Barbie Adventure the next day I may be a little turned off...or on depends on the day.

I plan on working setting up themed weeks, or scheduling a week or so for certain games to help ease my picking a game crisis.

The answer to play what you want? I don't have that for you. But you should always do what makes you happy. That’s what is truly important.

Share your thoughts, Strike up a convoy :)

Till Next time~
